Last week I received an email from a friend who alerted me to take a look at this news story the Herald ran about how big business has been assisting the Chinese government in its attempt to continue to censor and control the media. Check out the story here.

Some people believe that big business needs to be taking care of business first, the consumer and the shareholders, and making ethical decisions if and when it is necessary. Others believe that because big business has the ability to sway government policy they should be working for the betterment of our world and for freedom and democracy.

To what extent should big business be held responsible for making the world a safer and more free world for democracy?
